Jérôme Bel (2021)
Dance
Designed as the story of an artist’s career and staged like a lecture, Jérôme Bel (2021) takes up residence in the former graphic arts cabinet, GamMAH. Part library, part museum, the salon will host this documentary work, which the choreographer himself describes as an “auto-bio-choreo-graphy”. Seated at the table next to the screen on which selected excerpts from his shows are projected, the choreographer follows the chronological course of his shows, in a narrative in which acknowledged mistakes and retrospective discoveries bear witness to his personal reflections. The performance confirms the political and artistic commitments of a man who has redefined dance from the ground up.
The show contains scenes of nudity.
IMPORTANT: for reasons beyond our control, Jérôme Bel's show has been moved from GamMAH to Uni Mail.
